Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease with high prevalence and mortality. The most influencing factors of morbidity and mortality is compliance. This study aims to determine the relationship between compliance on quality of life of hypertensive patients.This research is design with cross sectional study. The research subjects were hypertensive patients taken at Polyclinic in RSUD PanembahanSenopatiBantul on September-October 2017. The inclusion criteria were hypertensive patients who registered at least 3 months, able to communicate and agree to be respondents.Compliance datawas collected with ProMAS and quality of life with SF-36. Data analysis using Pearson test.

The study involved 269dominated women patients (64.5%) with average age 60.8 ± 10.2 years. Total of 71% of patients had medium to high adherence values. The average value of quality of life is 64 lower than previous studies. The correlation test of compliance and quality of life showed a significant association (p<0.05) with a weak correlation level (r <0.3). The compliance is one of the factors that affect the quality of life of hypertensive patients.
