KAJIAN IBU DALAM MERAWAT ANAK YANG MENGALAMI DIARE PADA ANAK USIA BALITA

Abstract

The diarrhea disease is the main problem of morbidity and mortality in children around the world. The main cause of death due to diarrhea is the improper management of either at home or in health care facilities so as to reduce the death, because diarrhea need quick management and precise. Based on Riskesdas in 2012, especially in the area of ​​Tanah Bumbu district has increased by 8285 patients with a percentage of 4.58% in infants. Data in the dr. H. Abdurrahman Noor general hospital itself diarrhea cases among children occur as much as 454 patients with a percentage of 55.3%. This research aims to review the mother in caring the children who suffer diarrhea on aged under five.


The research method used a mixed method with the cross-sectional design with a sample of 82 to 4 participants for quantitative and qualitative purposive sampling method. The data analysis was performed using univariate, bivariate chi square, multivariate logistic regression.


The results show that the habits of the mother is the most dominant variable with diarrhea risk with OR = 0.3, whereas for qualitative researchers obtain four (4) themes, namely (1). Characteristics of diarrhea (2). Stress response and mother adaptation in caring their children (3). The ability of the mother in caring the children (4). Support is given in caring his children.


The recommendations from these results expected need further upgrading capacity of caring children and for health workers or the provision of counseling or education programs can be used as a routine activity either in policlinic of children and in nursing care, especially in nursing science of children.
