Abstract

Low hemoglobin content thus indicates anemia. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the occurrence of anemia in pregnant women ranges from 20% - 89% by setting HB levels of 11 gr% as the basic. This study aims to determine the influence of palm extract (phoenix dactylifera) to increase levels of hemoglobin to trimester III pregnant women.

The study design was quasi experimental with pre and post test without control. The sample of this study were 16 pregnant mother of trimester III with purposive sampling technique.

The result of this study that there was difference before given palm extract of respondent almost half (43,75%) normal hemoglobin level and most (56,25%) not normal, after given the palm extract almost entirely (93.75%) normal and partial hemoglobin levels (6.25%) were not normal. The statistical test was used  Wilcoxon test, obtained P value <0,05 (0,002).

The conclusion of this study, there was the influence of palm extract (phoenix dactylifera) to increase of hemoglobin level to trimester III pregnant woman in Puskesmas Batulicin. It was recommended that the palm extract (phoenix dactylifera) was used as aplikasion in pregnant women especially to increase hemoglobin level.
