Abstract

Hospitalization is a process for a reason of planning or emergency, requiring the child to stay in the hospital. Children are part of life of their parents life, thus if there is an experience that interfere with his life then parents will feel anxious, in this case the parents will experience anxiety when the child is given an act of hospitalization. Hospitalization measures are all hospital actions or procedures performed during patient care and treatment to improve optimal health status.

The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between hospitalization action procedure with family anxiety level at children age of preschool 3-5 years. This study was analytical design with cross sectional approach. Sample in this study were 31 respondents with accidental sampling technique. Instrument was used HARS scale questionnaire and observation sheet.

The results of this study indicate that almost half (25.8%) of hospitalization measures are adequately administered, most (74.2%) of hospitalization measures are often given and nearly half (16.1%) families experience mild anxiety, mostly (54.9 %) moderate anxiety, almost half (29.0) are anxiously heavy. The result of analysis using spearman rank test in get value p-value = 0,01 (<0,05). The conclusion of this study, there was correlation between hospitalization action procedure with family anxiety level at children age of preschool 3-5 years at pediatrics room in RSUD dr. H. Andi Abdurrahman Noor in 2017

The suggestion of this study was to increase parent participation in child care and treatment as well as to minimize the impact of hospitalization on children who are receiving hospital treatment in order to avoid hospitalization trauma.
