Abstract

Diet is the arrangement of the types and amount of food consumed a person or a group of people at any given time. Gout is a disease characterized by sudden and recurring bouts, the Crystal monosodium deposits due within the veins of the joint. The gout attack is triggered by many factors, one of the factors was high consume purin. One of Prevention that can be done is to set healthy eating patterns and avoid the consumption of foods containing high levels of purin, quit smoking, as well as reproduce consume at least 2 liters of water per day.

The design of this research is a Case Control Analytic studies Comparative types. The population in this research is the population aged 30-55 years old, located in the region of Simpang Empat Health Center. The sample in this research as much as 90 samples consisting of 45 samples of control samples and 45 cases. The instruments used in this research is the 24-hour recall food form and status data of the patient. The primary Data were obtained by means of an interview. The secondary Data were obtained from patient status data in the health care of a four-way interchange of disease incidence of gout.

The data analysis done by Univariate and bivariat use test and chi square p α = 0.05 <. Of research results obtained the value of p = 0.02 so that it can be concluded that there is a relationship between diet and gout incidence in the population aged 30-55 years old who visited the Simpang Empat Health Center Tanah Bumbu.

From this research it can be concluded that the diet there is a meaningful relationship with incidence of gout so it is advisable in people with diseases of uric acid that can control the diets and avoid foods that contain high levels of purin.
