Abstract
Sibling Rivalry is a feeling of jealousy and hatred that is usually experienced by the presence of a child or sibling's birth, but rather on changing circumstances. Children are very prone to sibling rivalry which affect the development of children's behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship betweenParenting Parents with Sibling Rivalry of Pre-school in Kodeco Tungkaran Pangeran Kecamatan Simpang Empat Tanah Bumbu district.
This research method is non-experimental descriptive analytic. The study design was cross-sectional. This research was conducted in Kodeco Tungkaran Pangeran Simpang Empat Tanah Bumbu district May 2014. The population in this study were all those parents who have children aged 3-6 years and have siblings with distance of less than 3 years, amounting to 45 years. The samples used ware all parents who have children aged 3-6 years and have siblings with a distance of less than 3 years, amounting to 45 people.
The results of this research using Chi-square test to determine the relationship between parenting parents with sibling rivalry events of pre-school children was obtained p-value> 0,02.
The conclusion of this study is no significant relationship between parenting parents with sibling rivalry in Kodeco Tungkaran Pangeran Kecamatan Simpang Empat Tanah Bumbu district.Suggestions in this study is expected to give parents appropriate parenting to children,s needs so that sibling rivalry can minimal.
