Abstract
Insomnia is difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep or sleep that is not good. These disorders can be temporary or permanent. The complaint most often delivered by insomnia patients, namely: difficult start to sleep, difficulty waking up from sleep, it's hard to go back to sleep after waking up in the middle of the night and quickly get up in the morning. One non-pharmacological therapy that can be used in treating sleep pattern is a rose aroma therapy. The aim of this study was to determine the Influence of Roses Aromatherapy to Disorders Sleep Patterns (Insomnia) in Elderly in Desa Manunggal Kecamatan Karang Bintang Kabupaten Tanah Bumbu in 2016.
This study was a quantitative by using a pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest by the collection of samples using purposive sampling method was 20 elderly aged> 65 years old
The results of this study was the Wilcoxon test, there was influence of rose aroma therapy to the disorders of sleep patterns (insomnia) in the elderly age> 65 years old after the intervention with p-value = 0.000 (p <0.05).
The conclusion of this study that there was the influence of rose aroma therapy to the disorders of sleep patterns (insomnia) in the elderly aged> 65 years old. Thus the elderly experience insomnia are suggested to apply roses aromatherapy with the aid of healt practitioners as to their resolve insomnia.
