Abstract
Improving the quality of human should begin as early as infancy. One factor that plays an important role in improving the quality of man is breastfeeding (breast milk). Problems related to the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding which is still very limited power and not maximal breastfeeding counselor education activities, dissemination, advocacy, and the related campaigns breastfeeding. Breastfeeding needs to be programmed to establish breastfeeding support groups and Kader Support Group as an activity that can support successful breastfeeding mothers. Breastfeeding counseling is an effective way to increase exclusive breastfeeding.
The study was to examine the effect of breastfeeding counseling training on the level of knowledge and skills of cadres. This study is a quasi-experimental research with one group pretest-posttest, with purposive technique sampling. The total sample of 40 respondents. Test data were analyzed using paired t-test
The result of the study was known that there was an effect of breastfeeding counseling training on knowledge level cadres (0.000 p <0.05) and no effect of breastfeeding counseling on skills training cadre (0.000 p <0.05). In conclusion there is a breastfeeding counseling training effect on the level of knowledge and skills of cadres.
