Abstract
This study aims to determine and compare the tonic effect of dates juice and x suplement in male mice with swimming endurance test or forced swimming test. the Forced Swimming Test method aims to measure the duration of mice when forced to swim. The mice used in this study were divided into eight groups; each group consists of 4 mice. For the control group is given aquadest as placebo, group II as a positive control is given caffeine suspension, then, for the group III - VIII are given Juice of dates fruit and x suplement with different dosage for each subject that are 0,043g/20gBB; 0,067g/20gBB; 0,117g/20gBB, and for x suplement dose given by 0,012g/20gBB; 0,024g/20gBB; 0,036g/20gBB. The swimming test was conducted 3 times in the starting day, the third, and the fifth day. The struggling duration of mice was analyzed by using Least Significant Different Analysis on SPSS. The research findings show that the dates juice has tonic activity in first dose (0,043g/20gBB), second dose (0,024g/20gBB) and third dose (0,117g/20gBB), whereas in x suplement has tonic activity in first dose (0,012g/20 gBB), second dose (0,024g/20gBB), and third dose (0,036g/20gBB). This is seen in the observations of the last day or fifth day. But we also observe different patern of swimming in the dates juice group, where mice swimming more relaxing than suplement X group.
