Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the correlation between maternal behavior in the use of Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases that is a problem in the health sector and is often found in primary health services, namely health centers.

The aim of this study was to determine the related factors and factors that influence the level of hypertension in the elderly in the Lasung Care Health Center work area. This study was survey analytic research. The sample size was 86 patients with hypertension. Research method with survey and using cross sectional approach.

The sampling technique using total sampling obtained 79 respondents. The results of the sperman rank test, variables related to the level of hypertension were age variables (p = 0.024) and smoking habits (p = 0.03). Whereas the unrelated variables are family history (p = 0.575), sex (p = 0.59), and obesity (p = 0.072), using multiple regression tests of smoking habits factors (p = 0.007) there is a significant influence between smoking factors against the level of hypertension in the elderly.

The conclusion of this study was that there is a relationship between age factors and the level of hypertension in the elderly and there is a correlation between smoking habits and the level of hypertension in the elderly in the Lasung Care Health Center work area. Smoking factors most significantly influence the level of hypertension.
