Abstract
Based on preliminary study, obtained data, there were 64 (27%) of primiparous maternal women, Kala I was the beginning of contraction marked by progressive cervical change ending with complete opening, Stage I was divided into 2 phases namely, phase latent and active phase. Non pharmacological therapy with giving palm juice to accelerate the progress of labor. This study purpose to determine the effectiveness of palm juice to progress of stage I labor latent phase in primipara.
The study design was Quasi Experimental with Posttest Only Non Equivalent Control Group. Sample were 36 mothers with primipara Stage I latent phase by using Purposive Sampling technique.
The result of this study was Mann Whitney test obtained p value 0,004 <0,005 it means there was the effectiveness of palm juice to progress of stage I labor latent phase in primipara.
The conclusion of the study, there was the effectiveness of palm juice to progress of stage I labor latent phase in primipara. It is recommended that this method could be used in maternity Hospital Paradise Tanah Bumbu to improve the management services of the progress of labor in the stage I.
