Abstract
Hypertension is a systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and a diastolic pressure of more than 90 mmHg, hypertension or high blood pressure increases with age, especially in the elderly. Aromatherapy roses (Rosa Centifolia) and Aromatherapy lavender (Lavendula Augustfolia) are non-pharmacological therapies that can reduce blood pressure. The aim of this study was to determine the comparison between aromatherapy rose (Rosa Centifolia) and lavender aromatherapy (Lavendula Augustfolia) to reducing blood pressure in elderly women.
This study was quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test without control group design. Samples in this study were 34 respondents were divided into 17 respondents in the intervention group 1 was aromatherapy rose (Rosa Centifolia), 17 respondents in the intervention group 2 was aromatherapy lavender (Lavendula Augustfolia), with purposive sampling technique.
The results of the study was the mann whitney and Wilcoxon test, obtained p value of0.01 (<0.05) there were differences in mean rank results in intervention group 1, intervention group 2, after treatment.The conclusion of this study, that there was a comparison between giving of the rose aromatherapy (Rosa Centifolia) and lavender aromatherapy (Lavendula Augustfolia) to reducing blood pressure in elderly women aged 60-70 years old in the Puskesmas Pagatan Kabupaten Tanah Bumbu in 2019.
The suggestion from this study to apply aromatherapy roses (Rosa Centifolia) and lavender aromatherapy (Lavendula Augustfolia) which are used as non-pharmacological therapies to reduce blood pressure.
