Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a disease caused by the Aedes aegypti mosquito and Aedes albopictus. Currently, Indonesia is still a country with a high DHF rate among endemic countries. Indonesia's tropical climate has led to the spread of the Aedes mosquito continues to increase. In Tanah spices district, South Kalimantan, data from Tanah Bumbu's health department showed a very significant increase in DHF cases, from 74 cases in 2018 to 207 cases in July 2019.
Natural larvicides from lemon leaves (Citrus limon) can be an alternative to become natural larvicides. Lemon leaves are naturally biodegradable, so it does not pollute the environment. Lemon leaves (Citrus limon) are known as active compounds Linalool, geraniol, ????-terpineol, linalyl acetate, Limonene. a larvicide test of lemon leaves has been carried out both in extract and granule form never conducted before.

The research was conducted by collecting lemon leaves from plantations in the region Kotabaru South Kalimantan which is then chopped and dried, then extracted with the maceration method for 3x24 hours. The result of extraction is made into a thick extract, then formulated into granules by wet granulation method. The granules are then tested for their physical properties, and its larvicidal effect on Aedes aegypti larvae. The results of this study can be used as a stable, effective and environmentally friendly alternative to natural larvicides, for DHF vector control. The result shows LC50 at 4.313g and LT50 at 18.703 hour, in conclution using 4 g of granule can be useful as a larvacide agent with 94% effectiveness at 24 hours.
