Abstract

The backround of this research by the high number of patients toddler (1-3) years in RSUD Majalaya in April as many as 131 people. The number of patients is greater than the number of patients preschoolers and school age children. Ill childrend who are hospitalized aregenerally in crissis because of anxiety due to environmental changes and pain during invasive action (Alifiatin 2001). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of emosional support families with children aged anxiety (1-3) in the time of infusion act in the IGD room  RSUD Majalaya  in 2014.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of emosional support families with children aged anxiety (1-3) in the time of infusion act in the IGD room  RSUD Majalaya  in 2014.

The research design was descriptive correlational cross sectional approach, the samples in this study were aged children (1-3) infusion performed in as many as 57 people,  obtained with purposive sampling technique, collection of data throught observasion, data collected was anayzed using descriptive analysis (univariate) and then analyzed using bivariate Chi Square test.

Univariate result for emotional support families showed that most respondents (73.7%) in favor of his son performed actions when mountimg anxiety, while for infuse obtained most of the respondents (43.9%) experiencing anxiety value 3. And then the statistical test revealed that there is relationship between emotional support and family anxiety toddler age children (1-3) years in the IGD room RSUD Majalaya  in 2014 (p-value 0.000).

Expected of nurses in providing nursing intervention, especially in the more improved action infusion of therapeutic communication techniques toddler age children (1-3) and appropriate distraction techniques to minimize anxiety (1-3) in the act of infusion.
