Abstract

Anemia is a condition in which the body has too little red blood cell (red cell), where the red blood cells contain hemoglobin levels. Based on data obtained at Puskesmas Batulicin there were 20 pregnant women who experienced anemia. The purpose of this study to know the effectiveness of giving green beans (vigna radiate) with the increase of hemoglobin level in trimester I pregnant women.

The design of this study was Pre Experiment with one group pre and posttest. The sample in this study were 20 trimester I pregnant women by using total sampling.

The result of the study was wilcoxon test indicated that p value 0.001 (<0,05) it means there was effectiveness of green bean (vigna radiata) to increase hemoglobin level in trimester I pregnant women.

The conclusion of this study, there was the effectiveness of giving green beans (vigna radiata) to the increase of hemoglobin levels in trimester I pregnant women. It is recommended for pregnant women to overcome anemia by consuming half cup (160 ml) of green beans (vigna radiata) in a day.
