Abstract

Children of Preschool are children of 3-6 years old, who think hospitalization as a frightening experience. The impact of hospitalization itself is most commonly experienced by pediatric patients is anxiety, which if left unchecked will make children rejection of treatment and treatment measures. One tool distraction in reducing children's anxiety is playing therapy.

 The purpose of this study to determine the Effectiveness of Drafting Therapy And Coloring of Draw to Anxiety of Hospitalization to Preschool in RSUD dr. H. Andi Abdurrahman Noor. This study was quantitative, with Quasi Experimental design. Method was pretest - posttest without control. The sample in this study was conducted by using accidental sampling technique.

The result of the study was wilcoxcon test, significance value of pretest-posttest for the Drafting Therapy obtained p-value 0,001 (p <0,05) and significance value of pretest-posttest  for Coloring of Draw therapy obtained p-value 0.000 (p <0,05). The result of man withney test, significance value between drawing therapy and Coloring of Draw therapy obtained p-value 0,020 (p <0,05).

The conclusions of this study, the drawing and coloring therapy were equally effective in reducing the anxiety level of the child during hospitalization, but coloring the picture was more effective in reducing child anxiety. It is recommended that parents give games to their children while in hospital to make them feel at ease while undergoing hospitalization.
